New Moon's Oscar Potential??!!

According to MTV’s Hollywood Crush, the “Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (a.k.a. the people who put on The Academy Awards every year) announced their shortlist of nominees for Best Original Song. Lykke Li’s “Possibility” from “New Moon” was included on the list.”
Now as great as this sounds, MTV clarifies what the ironically named “short list” means. “a bit of perspective should be laid out. The “shortlist” rings in at 63 songs, which makes us think the long list must have comprised of just about every song included in a film this year.”

Taylor Lautner to star in movie "Cancun"

Summit Entertainment home of The Twilight Saga will soon have another notch under their belts. Twilight & New Moon star Taylor Lautner will star in the upcoming action flick Cancun.

CANCUN follows an out-of-place college kid who travels with a girl to Cancun on a break. While there, the girl and her friends are taken hostage by a drug cartel and he is forced to save them.

The film is being designed to allow Lautner to use his martial arts skills, some of which he recently showcased on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.

The plot alone sounds quite intriguing, I can’t wait to see this film. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that “Cancun” is the first film from the production company that Taylor and his dad Dan Lautner have started together & that Dan Lautner may produce the film! I would love to see his production work. I had no idea Taylor’s dad was even a producer!!

Rachelle Lefevre’s Beloved Dog, Honey

Rachelle Lefevre’s dog, Honey, who Rachelle has spoken about numerous times died yesterday.

Honey had been sick for the past month, and was notably hospitalized on the day of the New Moon premiere. Honey was a adopted by Rachelle and her boyfriend from a rescue organization, a cause that Rachelle has long supported. In fact there is a current auction on Ebay to win a coffee date with Rachelle that supports this very cause. Our hearts go out to Rachelle, as anyone knows who is an animal lover, it is like losing a member of your family.

MTV's Men & Women of the Year-Rob & Kris!

Robert Pattinson is named MTV News’ #6 Man of the Year!

In 2009, all eyes were on RPattz. Despite only releasing one movie, there were few people whose face sold more magazines, whose every word made more of a ripple and whose public appearances caused such a stir. Under such pressure, a lot of 23-year-old actors would end up getting into trouble, indulging to the point of excess and disappointing their fans. But somehow, the uniquely suited-for-stardom Robert Pattinson took it all with a good-natured grin and self-deprecating charm. In “Twilight” and beyond, his future seems so bright that he’ll likely be sparkling for quite some time.

Kristen Stewart is MTV News’ #7 Woman of 2009.

As the “New Moon” hype continued to build, KStew kept her indie cred intact. In March, she played a teenager suffering from a fatal nerve disease in “The Cake Eaters,” a tiny character drama directed by Mary Stuart Masterson. KStew researched her role by spending time with real-life sufferers of Friedreich’s ataxia and admitted that although she had a busy year ahead, she was glad the “Twilight” sequels were all filming so closely together.

Ashley dishes on Prom Night & More..

Ashley Greene has had some magical prom experiences — most famously giving her on-screen costar Bella a glam makeover for her evening out with Edward in Twilight. Her off-screen reality was quite different, though still pretty dreamy.

In the 2010 issue of TeenPROM, Greene says, “I bought my dress and I pretty much paid for everything because my parents really didn’t have the money to pay for something like that. I worked for it, so I think it meant that much more to me because I had to save up.” She continues: “I went with my high school sweetheart and had a blast. I had that fairytale prom everyone talks about.” As a spokesperson for DonateMyDress.org, a charity that targets underprivileged prom-goers, the actress, who gave up her own hard-earned gold sequined gown for the cause, wants to ensure that other girls have similarly blissful memories. The 22-year-old starlet has the following advice for teens: “People have a lot of anticipation for an event like prom and end up overdoing it or wearing too much makeup. Really make sure you are comfortable because then you’ll feel beautiful, instead of going overboard and asking yourself, ‘Oh my gosh, what did I do?’” For more prom tips from Ashley, check out the new TeenPROM, which hits newsstands December 22, or visit teenmag.com.

Vanity Fair Pic of Anna Kendrick

VF: It’s a vampire world and we’re just dying in it: Kendrick made her name in the original Twilight movie—“I had no idea; none of us knew”—as mere mortal Jessica Stanley, “Bella’s friend from school.” She reprises the role in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, in theaters now. And for the adults in the audience … Kendrick shines as George Clooney’s tightly wound underling in Jason Reitman’s well-timed dramedy about corporate cost-cutting, Up in the Air, which is already generating Oscar buzz. “I was shooting them both at the same time,” says Kendrick. “It was great because my character in Up in the Air is so rigid, and it was fun to go to Vancouver [to the set of New Moon] and play the silliest girl on the planet!”
