Stephenie to release NEW Twi Saga Book!!!!!!

Brace yourself, Twilight fans. A new book from Stephenie Meyer is on the horizon.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella will be released at 12:01 a.m. June 5.

The 192-page story, an offshoot of the third novel in Meyer's best-selling teen vampire Twilight saga, has a first printing of 1.5 million. It's the first new Twilight title since Breaking Dawn, Book 4, was published two years ago.

The new novella is told in the voice of the teenage Bree, a "newborn vampire" whom we meet on page 569 in Eclipse. Ten pages later, she's dead.

"I started writing this a long time ago," Meyer said in an exclusive interview with USA TODAY. "It was when I was editing Eclipse. It was more of just an exercise so I could be clear about what was going on in the story."

The Twilight novels are told from the perspective of Bella, who falls in love with the vampire Edward Cullen.

"There's only so much stuff you can tell when what Bella sees and hears is all you can tell," Meyer says.

Bree is part of an army of newborn vampires created by Cullen family nemesis Victoria. Thirsty for revenge after the Cullens kill her vampire lover James, Victoria's plan is to use her army to kill the Cullens and Bella.

"The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is pretty much contained in the last week of the newborns' existence before the big fight (between the Cullens and the vampire army) in the meadow in Eclipse," Meyer says. "It's the last week before Bree dies."

In the novella, Meyer says, Bree has been a vampire for about three months. No other details are being released.

But some plot points from the novella have made their way into the Eclipse film, starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, which opens June 30. Meyer gave David Slade, the film's director, a draft to read during production. The character of Bree is played by Canadian actress Jodelle Ferland.

Fans have speculated that the next Twilight title would be Midnight Sun, the story of Twilight told in Edward Cullen's voice.

"I think they're all waiting for Midnight Sun," says Meyer, who put Sun on hold indefinitely in 2008 when a draft was posted on the Internet without her permission and went viral. "But I'm not writing about vampires right now."

Stephenie on Oprah-Clips & Pics

Stephenie rocked it this past Friday on Oprah.  It was nice to hear more about Twilight and her passion for this book.  Especially to hear that she was turned down by so many agents and publications-but for one!  If it wasn't for that one, we wouldn't have the craze we call today-Twilight!

Stephenie Meyer's to be on OPRAH!!

Via  Stephenie’s Official Website, she writes:

“I wanted to apprise you all of a few upcoming things.
You know I’ve been doing the hermit thing this last year, in so far as media is concerned, and I’m not changing that now, but I am making an exception. I’m doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. And since I’m only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big. So….I will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 13th. Check the local listings on Oprah’s website to find out what time it will be on where you live.

Of course, most of the questions for Oprah will be designed for a broader audience than just die-hard Twilight fans, and I imagine people who read this site and other fansites will already know most of the answers. To rectify this, I’m going to answer your more specific questions on-line. The official Twilight Saga website (www.TheTwilightSaga.com) will be taking any New Moon movie-related questions you might have for me, and then I’ll answer those most frequently asked. I’ll post the answers on the Twilight Saga website and also here on my own site. Questions can be submitted to TheTwilightSaga.com from noon (Eastern Standard Time) on Monday, November 9th through noon Tuesday, November 10th. The answers will be posted Monday, November 16th—or New Moon Premiere Day, as it is known around my house. (Details about submitting the questions will be posted first thing Monday morning at TheTwilightSaga.com, you can also get more information below.)

I’m so very excited that you’ll all get to see New Moon in just two weeks! Then you’ll see what I’m going on about. Until then, think up some good questions for me.

Love,
Steph

Stephenie Meyer, Female Force, Comic Book!

MTV's Splash Page shares details about Stephenie Meyer's Female Force Comic Book:

The latest in Bluewater Productions' line of "Female Force" comics, the Meyer bio will hit shelves in both a standard-size issue and a limited-run, 32-page version featuring a custom, alternate cover debuting exclusively here on Splash Page! If you're already planning to pick this one up, keep in mind that you won't be able to order the limited-edition "Female Force: Stephenie Meyer" issue at your local comic shop. The limited-edition format will only be available via Dazzled By Twilight, a retailer in Forks, Washington (the real-life town where "Twilight" is set—but you already knew that). Don't worry, though, fans who can't make the pilgrimage to Forks can order the comic online, as well as a poster-sized print of the cover.

Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights: New Twilight Inspired Book Covers

Wuthering Heights
The classic Wuthering Heights by badass scribe Emily Bronte is receiving new Twilight Saga influenced covers, mimicing the monochromatic black and white with red flourishes of the iconic Twilight books. Given the spelling of “Favorite” between the two, I’d say the 1st one is the UK version.

Thx, NMM!

Stephenie not making cameo in New Moon?

A real New Moon flower! =)
ReelzChannel reports that in an interview with Time, Chris Weitz reveals "that there will be no cameo made by The Twilight Saga author, Stephenie Meyer, in New Moon -he “feel(s) bad about it” and “had kind of forgotten that she had a cameo in the first one [Twilight].”Whoops! On the scheme of things, not that big of a deal. But it was cool to see Stephenie in Twilight, and kinda disappointing that she won’t appear in New Moon. Although it is rather odd considering she was on set in Vancouver.Chris Weitz has done an amazing job so far, and I’m sure Stephenie does not mind."

What?? SM not in New Moon?? I don't even know what to say, I'm a little shocked because I envisioned her in all the movies. Hello, she is the one who wrote these awesome books!! =)

New Moon News from Stephenie Meyer

New Moon author Stephenie Meyer’s website has been updated with the following information–
It has been a while since the last time I posted anything—I hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to bring your attention to a couple of things.

First, in case you didn’t see it, New Moon: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion is already available for pre-order (even though the cover art has not been released). For those of you who haven’t seen the Twilight Companion, it is filled with high-quality images and behind-the-scenes information. Please note that Stephenie does not write these books, but I really enjoyed the first one.

Also, Random House (the company who produces the Twilight audiobooks) is hosting another contest through their subsidiary suvudu.com. They will be giving away the entire Twilight series on audio books (you must be a resident of the United States and 18 years of age or older to enter). Please note that this contest is not at all affiliated with StephenieMeyer.com, although I do enjoy listening to the audio books.
Good luck! =)

Stephenie Meyer Updates Her Website Regarding Alleged Lawsuit

Stephenie Meyer has updated her website to address the false media reports that she is being sued. Even today after a statement was released to the media confirming that the story was a hoax, various major media outlets continued to incorrectly report and perpetuate the story revitalizing the rumor that Stephenie was being sued, just that it wasn’t affecting the production. Their coverage was then cited by other sources. As you can see below the story never had any basis in truth, ever.

“There are a lot of things I should be doing updates on—for example, how awesome and successful the Book Babe event was, and how cool it was to meet all the other authors and hang out with them a little bit, and how much I appreciated all the tremendous support from the fans—but instead of commenting on happy things (which I admit I should have done a week ago; I was waiting for things to slow down for a day, silly me!), I’m commenting on ridiculous internet rumors so that my publicist’s day will be just a little bit better.

I am not being sued. No one has contacted me or my publisher to inform either of us that I’m being sued. I never had a roommate named Heidi. There is no professor in the BYU English department named Dr. Peter Benton (though there is a character on ER by that name). And most of all, I began writing Twilight exactly the way I’ve told people in countless interviews and events for the past six years: I had a cool dream, I wrote it down, writing it down was really fun, so I kept writing until I had a whole book.

The sad thing about this silly situation is that so many legitimate news outlets reported it without doing any research at all to determine if there was any truth to the story. And at least two of these facts are really, really easy to confirm. Particularly, the one about the BYU professor. A simple on-line search can give you that information. Also, a quick call to my publisher would have cleared up the whole lawsuit story. (Kudos to the fansites who did their due diligence and debunked this rumor days ago.)

I guess the moral of the story is that—big surprise—you can’t believe everything you read on the internet. Seems like it’s April Fool’s Day every day on-line. So no worries, the filming of New Moon continues uninterrupted. And, to end this on a bright note, the filming of New Moon continues to be awesome. It’s all so beautiful! Chris Weitz is brilliant. Kristen, Rob, and Taylor are beyond words. I have gotten choked up more than once on set due to their amazing performances. I can’t wait to see it all put together!
Steph”
