New Moon has already out-sold Twilight!

New Moon opens in 4 days, but the film has already outsold its predecessor, Twilight, in total advance ticket sales on Fandango, the nation's leading movie ticketing destination. The new movie currently represents 75% of the site's ticket sales. And MovieTickets.com New Moon is #1, while Twilight is #4!

Although thousands of next Thursday night's midnight showtimes are sold-out across the country (from Anchorage, Alaska to Winter Park, Florida), tickets are still available, while new showtimes are added regularly to keep up with the demand.

"Ever since we started selling advance tickets to New Moon on August 31, the demand has been unstoppable, as the fan base just keeps growing every day," says Fandango Chief Operating Officer Rick Butler. "New Moon is tracking to be Fandango's #1 top advance ticket-seller of all time."

Currently, New Moon ranks as the #4 top advance ticket-seller in Fandango history, toppling Twilight which previously held the spot.

The Top 5 Advance Ticket-Sellers on Fandango (as of November 12, 2009) are as follows:
1.Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
2.Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
3.The Dark Knight (2008)
4.New Moon (2009)
5.Twilight (2008)

According to a recent Fandango survey of more than 2,000 New Moon ticket-buyers, the first Twilight movie helped fuel the fan frenzy that has carried over to the other installments in the series:
•55% said the first Twilight movie inspired them to read all the books by Stephenie Meyer.
•51% plan to see New Moon more than once in the theater.
•61% said they have read the novel New Moon more than once.

Fandango is also offering exclusive limited edition New Moon gift cards good for any movie, anytime on Fandango

You can purchase them here!

Did Catherine Hardwick Out Robsten?

There is a lot of buzz over the internet as to whether or not Twilight director Catherine Hardwick outed Twilight Saga co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Here is an excerpt from her Time interview -

By all accounts, the chemistry between the two leads was intense, maybe too intense. “After I cast him, I told Rob, Don’t even think about having a romance with her,” Hardwicke says. “She’s under 18. You will be arrested.” It was the beginning of the real-life are-they-aren’t-they, did-they-didn’t-they speculation that is now an ongoing subplot of the Twilight story. “I didn’t have a camera in the hotel room. I cannot say,” Hardwicke says. “But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn’t happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, O.K., I’ve got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.”

What do you guys think about what Catherine said? Angry? Ecstatic? Too much private info given out? Not enough? Let us know what you think below!

Check out the rest of Time’s awesome article, definitely worth reading as they touch base on how the Twilight movie came about. And they also talk about New Moon.

Are you ready for this???
The official Twilight fan convention is touring both nationally and internationally!
  • The Twi-Con has scheduled 20 dates over the next three years, including a stop in Los Angeles March 12th-14th, 2010, at the LAX Marriott, for all of you SoCal kids!
The conventions are said to feature "exclusive footage sneak-peaks, panel discussions, photo opportunities, contests and parties," as well as meet and greets with Kellan Lutz and Ashley Green!
  • There will even be invites to "wine and cheese parties" with the cast members of Twilight auctioned off! Yummy! "This allows fans to interact with actors in many different ways," explained Erin Ferries, VP of Creation Entertainment, the company behind the convention.

Designers Create Bella's Wedding Dress

Bare shoulder? I think not!
InStyle features various designers' takes on Bella's wedding dress, including the one above by Project Runway's Christian Siriano. Check out your faves here.

Personally, I like Monique Lhullier's creation best, but other designs are likely more to Edward's taste...What do you think?

Monique Lhullier's design

Lela Rose's design seems to be among your faves!

Forks Sign Moved-but for good reasons! =)

Chris Cook photo
Among the first Twilight fans to take photos in front of the newly-moved City of Forks’ Welcome To Forks sign were visitors from Barcelona, Spain: Francisco Vallverdu and his fourteen-year-old daughter Diana Vallverdu. The popular sign was moved Wednesday from its original location on a rise near the Forks Outfitters sign pictured in the background. The move was made to make it safer for fans to take their photos. New highway signage will also make is safer when drivers pull over and park near the sign, which has become an internationally-known landmark. Thx, TwiGossip!

Judging a Book By It’s Twilight Cover

The UK paper The Guardian talks about the Bronte classic, Wuthering Heights getting a new cover partially inspired by Twilight and the book being one that Bella is reading.
“Novels getting a makeover because of a movie or television adaptation is nothing new … the new edition of Wuthering Heights, from Harper, borrows the contemporary Gothic design style of Meyer’s successful series. The American edition, coming in October, re-presents the Brontë novel with a cover comprising a black background and blood-red rose, while the UK edition opts for a tender white bloom, and the very vampiric cover blurb: Love Never Dies.

Should we be appalled, or approving of this latest move?”

See the full Guardian Interview here.

As a side note, initially back in 2005 Twilight didn’t sell well in the UK. It didn’t start to catch on until Eclipse when the UK covers matched the American styles and the books were rebranded. The original UK cover is pictured to the left. I find it a little scary, the girl looks skinny anorexic and all you see is lockers?!

So what do you think, how much does a cover help a novel be it a new one or a classic?
